Visuals jump out of nearly every page and it's easy to get overwhelmed by the vast array of colors that explode on each panel. The Four Constables reads like the best of them, and Andy Seto's artwork is sure to take your breath away, utilizing everything from lush paintings to computer assisted artwork right down to simple inkwork. If you're a fan of Hong-Kong period piece epics, lay your money down on this series with no fear. While four against thirteen may not sound like very good odds, when it's these four, the odds seem stacked against their opponents. These four men are the tools their master uses to stop these thirteen evildoers once and for all. The country is not without her protectors, in the form of the Four Constables: swift-footed Life Snatcher, stalwart Iron Hand, master of tactics and weapons Emotionless, and savage but powerful Cold-Blooded. Given that it's rare for someone to master even ONE style of kung-fu enough to pass it on to someone else, a person capable of mastering thirteen is surely not one to be trifled with. Thirteen masked individuals are pillaging the Chinese countryside, each with their own particular kung-fu style, working in servitude to an evil master who trained them all.
